Hills & Rural Farm Services was founded in 2003 by David Thomas and Tammy Irvine-Thomas, both who continue in the business today.

Since inception, H&R was known as Hills & Rural Property Management. But, in July 2022 the team decided to shake things up and take the business in a new direction — so, Hills & Rural Farm Services was born.

Our team have been a part of the Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula for more than 50 years. They share your passion for agriculture and animal husbandry and will always be there to support you and your property, so you can get the most of farming. The family have a rich history in agriculture, livestock management and animal husbandry. They are seasoned locals with a passion for lending a hand to the community where they can.

David’s father, Graham Norman Thomas, was a jack-of-all-trades, but particularly a master sheep shearer who travelled Australia working for more than 30 years. Graham sheared in sheds from outback Victoria and New South Wales, to the Eyre Peninsula and home to the Adelaide Hills. David was raised with farming in his veins, and he has passed down this passion to his family who join him in the family business.

David has worked in residential and commercial gardening, viticultural management and livestock production and handling practice for the last three decades. He brings to your farm a knowledge and understanding which both advances and complements your needs, to help better your rural holding.

Tammy was raised on acreage in Macclesfield, and has a fascinating family story covering potato growing, sheep farming and road transport. She has branched out into other fields, including advertising and graphic design, as well as working as a qualified remedial massage therapist in recent years.
