Agriculture

With an ever-growing population of small holdings, our team offer day-to-day property management functions to help take the burden off during busy and peak periods of the working year. We specialise in contract hire services for pasture renovation and maintenance, fencing, water management and haymaking. We can attend your property while you’re on holiday, or step in to work alongside you in the management of your property.

Fencing

Fences are the one infrastructure you just cannot do without. They are the be-all-end-all of your property. But it is important that we choose the right fence for you.

Choosing a fence really depends on what purpose it will serve. Our friendly team are here to guide you along if you’re unsure, or can source the materials on your behalf if you have an idea of what you’d like.

If you have a fence line in need of some attention, our team can install and replace broken fences on your property, as well as help you with selecting the right materials for the job. There’s nothing worse than livestock on roads, or in the neighbour’s paddocks.

Pasture Renovation and Management

Productive pastures not only lead to increased animal performance and better pasture utilisation, but can also lead to more dollars in the bank.

Are your fields in need of some improving? We are equipped to cultivate, disc, fertilise, spray, mow and seed each of your paddocks, and can sit down with you to scale out a programme that works best for your needs.

The Adelaide Hills in the cooler months can be a lush area, with strong nutritious yields for feed and silage. Even small area farmers can enjoy production and income benefits similar to their larger counterparts from pasture development.

Firewood and Fire Prevention

Fire safety at your farm is as important to us as it is to you. We offer firewood and fire prevention services to help ensure the safety of your property, especially during the hotter and much drier Summer months.

We deal with clearing fence lines and non-grazeable areas, slashing larger fields, controlling noxious weeds, and the removal of deceased or fallen trees.

We have the equipment to split logs, and we even leave you with the firewood if you have a combustion heater or fireplace.

Areas in the Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula are known to be bushfire prone areas, and any build-up of organic rubbish can be extremely dangerous, if not catastrophic, during fire season. We encourage you start early with your fire prevention measures, though our team are open to requests year-round.

Haymaking

An important season for all rural properties is hay season. Hay can be used as a vital source of supplementary fodder during the drier months, and the activity of haymaking is a good safety precaution for bushfire risk reduction. We will work with you to schedule your property by paddocks to ensure you get the best yield from your hay paddocks.

There is usually about a two-week "window" of time in which grass is at its ideal stage for harvesting hay.

Our team have the equipment and expertise to cut, rake and bale your paddocks for optimum nutritive value and resale price, and at competitive pricing too. There is no job too great or small.

Water Management

Access to water is vital for good pastoral care and livestock management on rural holdings. It is important to the success of your property that water catchments, dams and other infrastructure receive the care necessary to maintain good access to water.

Whether you have catchments or dams that need clearing or deepening, or there is pipeline infrastructure that needs maintenance or improvement to increase efficiency and ease of access, our team are there to help. We are happy to help with the installation or repairs of water points on your property, and will conduct regular checks to ensure their proper function.
